I received my M.S. (1987) and Ph.D. (1991) in Electrical Engineering, and postdoctoral training in computational neuroscience at the University of Virginia. Since 1993, I have been at the University of Cincinnati, where I am currently professor in the School of Electronic & Computing Systems. My research area is complex systems with a focus on the following topics:

Neurodynamical models of semantic cognition and motor control.

Dynamics of ideas and innovation in evolving social networks.

Collective cognition in multi-agent networks.

Web intelligence.

Self-organizing networks.

Artificial life.
